Little Sailors
(Ages 0-3)

Our Nursery at “The Ship” is the perfect place for your Little Sailor!! It provides a warm, safe harbor where our youngest crew members are cared for with Christ-like love while their parents are able to enjoy a stress free worship service! We believe that your Little Sailor is the most precious cargo and our desire is to tenderly guide each one as they begin their voyage in God’s wonderful world.

Psalm 127:3 says – Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

The Ship Kids
(Ages 4-11)

At Friendship Baptist – we take our Kids Ministry serious! We want them to know that they are a part of something bigger – they are the future generation – without “The Ship Kids” – Friendship Baptist would have no future. In “The Ship Kids” every child will learn to love God’s Word through practical Bible lessons, uplifting songs, and action packed activities that teach biblical truth. It’s quite the discovery where their young faith will begin to take shape. We believe in teaching them at a young age – so we follow the example of Proverbs 22:6 as we Train up our Children at “The Ship”

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Anchored Youth
(Ages 12-18)

We know as well as anyone that we are living in a world that is full of shifting tides. Our Anchored Youth Ministry will help each and every teen learn to be anchored and stand firm in their walk with Christ. Through Bible study, serving in multiple ministries throughout the church, and weekly fellowship, our teens are continually learning to keep their faith anchored when the storms of life come about!

Hebrews 6:19 - “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast . . ."

The Crew
(Ages 19-34)

Welcome to “The Crew” a Ministry that is geared toward the Young Adults here at “The Ship” This important Ministry is what helps the Church continually forward. This group focuses on building Christ-centered relationships, serving faithfully, and navigating life’s journey with purpose. They are much needed – A Ship cannot function without “The Crew”.

I Timothy 4:12 reminds us that even in our youthful days we are to continually set the example – The Crew does just that – Setting the Example for those who are younger as well as those who are more aged!

1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The Voyagers
(Ages 35-54)

Welcome to The Voyagers Ministry! A ministry that is geared towards encouraging adults that find themselves in the heart of life’s journey to walk in faith, strengthen their homes, and model godly leadership for others aboard. We know that Life is definitely a Voyage that is filled with many obstacles – here at “The Ship” our desire is to help you in that Voyage when the seas of life are difficult, and to rejoice with you when the Voyage is smooth! In the book of Hebrews we find the true theme of Life’s Voyage – the weights, temptations, sins, distractions, and difficulties of life can all weigh you down – but we are encouraged through this passage of Scripture to continually run life’s race!

Hebrews 12:1 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Steady Saints
(Ages 55+)

This is considered one of our finest groups of individuals. Each one of these faithful Saints has certainly had their share of rough seas and through it all have truly remained steady! This group of seasoned believers has learned that there is nothing more important than to continually sail faithfully through it all! They certainly remain true to their name “Steady Saints” and much can be learned from this fine group of individuals that help hold “The Ship” together! They remain steady and faithful to provide wisdom, mentorship, and encouragement to the generations that follow behind them. No passage of Scripture could be more fitting to those who have “Kept the Faith”.

2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Shining Stars
Widows and Widowers

The STARS in “Shining Stars” holds to the Acronym “Standing True As Righteous Saints” and that is certainly what this group of individuals does! No one ever wants to face the loss of their Spouse, but unfortunately that is a part of life that we may find ourselves facing. This unique ministry is there to provide comfort, strengthen fellowship, and be an encouragement to those who have experienced the loss of a spouse. Together, our “Shining Stars” shine as steady beacons of light in a display of faith and hope, reminding one another and those who may be watching from a distance that God’s presence is constant through every storm helping them “Stand True As Righteous Saints” and this beautiful group of individuals can testify more than any other the truths found in Psalm 34:18

Psalm 34:18 - The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Ladies of Faith
(Ladies Ministry)

This group consist of all the Ladies of Friendship Baptist Church. They gather once a month for their “Ladies of Faith” Meeting! This meeting consist of a time together in simple and practical Bible study, prayer, and encouragement. This ministry is designed to unite the hearts of each Lady of “The Ship” to grow together in grace and godliness and who says that you can’t have food involved!!! When you show up to the Ladies of Faith Meeting – be sure to have an appetite – not only for the Word of God – but for some refreshment too!!

The Discipleship Deck

The Discipleship Deck is a class designed to strengthen the walk of new believers. It is designed to help those new to the faith to get more deeply grounded in the Word of God and helping to equip them for their spiritual voyage. Each lesson builds upon each other providing a stronger foundation for the journey with Christ. This class provides simple challenges, in depth discussion, and builds strong relationships and unity amongst the Church. We want every New Believer to Learn the Ropes so to speak – not just here at “The Ship” but for their entire life! Our desire is for every believer to be Anchored in the Faith and it all starts when you climb aboard “The Discipleship Deck”
